VIA MONASTICA: 3 days

PlanViaTuronensisVia Podensis2023.png

The Via Monastica is the continuation of the Dutch Jacobsweg Amstelredam and partly coincides with it. He leaves in Vessem in North Brabant at the pilgrim farm Capernaum. The route takes its name from the Premonstratensian abbeys along the route: the abbeys of Postel, Tongerlo, Averbode and Leffe (Dinant). In addition, the former abbey of Floreffe is located a few kilometers from the pilgrimage road and the castle of Hélécine was once a Norbertine abbey. You walk through the Kempen, Haspengouw, the Meuse valley and the Ardennes forests of the Viroin.
